Bird Play Gym - Bird Supplies

How Would I Make A Large Bird Play Gym?

Can anyone know how to make a very large (width and height) play gym for two cockatiels and two parakeets?

Can you please tell me how to add/ do these things?

- I would like a very large one (width and height)
- Make/attach toys to the gym
- Attach food/water cups
- Perches (alll kinds)
- Coloring (how would I do this?)
- sturdy

my father and i just made a VERY big play gym for our 5 cockatiels, it measured 80 cm by 75. it was 60 cm high (2 levels), and had alot of different sections to make it more interesin etc.

making toys is really fun hair curles are non toxic, using non toxic wood and non toxic wood glue are always a good start, paint can vary but it is best to stay away from, to make it coulourful add bright toys and bright food/water cups. or u can just buy sometoys from your pet store.

the best way to add food and water dishes is to either glue them or make a little slot for them to do this you will need to glue 4 edes about 3 cm high in a square shape or water shpae your food/ water dish is this stops the bird from tipping them over and making a mess another easy way is to glue them.

the best way to place perches is to glue them with non toxic glue and also nail them this gives it double the strength, if you but the perches you may have to wire them MAKE SURE that no sharp edges are protruding incase your bird huurts it self.

colouring as i mentioned above is best stayed away from, as certain colours have different chemicals making them toxic so stay way from them.

to make it sturdy even out the weight of the levels and use circular wooden poles 2 cm in diameter.

hope this helps!!

Things You Need To Know About Your Parakeet

When affluent to pick out your Parakeet, there are several things you need to know, to make sure you get a healthy bird. Is the bird more active than other birds or maybe he is not as active as the other birds. Does he covet to do nothing but sleep? These could be signs of a sick bird!

A bird`s normal routine is eating, sleeping, defecating and playing. This defines a shape bird. Here are some other signs of a healthy bird; a good appetite; upright situation; active movement; a clean cere, which is the spot above the beak that covers the bird`s nostrils; glittering eyes; clean vent and legs; smooth feathers and a full-chested looks.

How many should you get, one or two? Although having one parakeet will normally make a more loving pet, because the family becomes it`s substitute troupe, two birds are very entertaining as they play and chase each other around the cage.

If you get a pair, impart sure you get them at the same time to ensure they will get along. If you get one, then get another one later on, the first bird tends to push around the second bird as this is a territorial behavior. If you do buy them at different times, keep them in divided cages, apart from each other and gradually move them closer together, until they get used to being compact to each other.

conure play gym

Hi !! I am trying to make a play gym for my sun conure, out of wood. I google searched for safe trees and found a list of safe trees, but i have never came across any of these trees. so my question is that is Banyan tree safe for birds as there are many banyan trees here. and is dried coconut palm leaves good to make toys for my sun conures. Hi, I think it is great that you want to make your bird a playgym. I wish I had an answer on that type of tree but I don't. I have found wood things to be easy shreddables with conures. Maybe you could make a gym out of PVC? You can get really creative with them and switch the parts around all the time. And best of all, you can just wipe the poop off of them! Just a thought...
