Yankee Bird Feeder - Bird Supplies

squirrel proof bird feeder?

6 months ago, i bought a bird feeder. it was called the "yankee tipper". i'm close to a spruce tree. and squirrels live with the birds in the tree. the squirrels jump off the tree and eat upside down. and then the crows fly at the same time while they eat. then, i bought a dome-like thing for the squirrels. but they still eat upside down. now, the squirrels scared off the small birds that i enjoy. i live in the Kansas City-Prairie village area, so i was wondering if there is any good feeders around here. i don't want to buy on the internet, please.
by the way, the squirrels already broke the feeder. and i don't have an area where i'm ten ft. away from a tree. I'm in the leawood area, so all what you see is trees. i cannot hang something on the tree because my spruce can't hold anything. most things fall off. i can't cut down the tree either.

My mom buys some birdseed that has some sort of pepper in it, which the birds still enjoy, but the squirrels HATE it. if you sprinkle it around the bird feeder too, they'll eat a piece and then never go back once they taste it.
I think it's called "squirrel off" or something. and it's totally humane.

Amid Recruiting Crisis, Military Turns To Branding

ROBERT SIEGEL, host: Since 9/11, the U.S. has been needing more than a few humane men and women. And military merchandise has become one recruiting tool. If you find yourself looking for a new smell, for example, consider the cologne Devil Dog. It is the officially licensed Aquatic Corps cologne, with aromas of sandalwood, cedar and citric spices - condign $45 a bottle. It is one of many products that are licensed and trademarked by branches of the military. Christian Davenport of the Washington Place wrote about this foray into sales and marketing by the armed forces, and he joins us now. Salutation.

CHRISTIAN DAVENPORT: Thanks for having me.

SIEGEL: And let's back up a bit. How and when did the U.S. military get into fallout merchandising?

DAVENPORT: Well, I guess, we should start by saying they have always done this to a settled degree. I mean, there have always been Army t-shirts and Marine Women t-shirts, but what's different now is that, in 2004, Congress passed a law that allowed the services to keep the take that they generated from issuing, licensing and trademarks.

The feeder attracts woodpeckers and the aluminum perches can’t be chewed and don’t hurt birds’ feet.
