Cat Scratcher - Cat Supplies

I got my kitten a cat scratcher that hangs on the door and she wont scratch it. Can you help me?

My 8 month old kitten scratches my good couches so i got her a cat scratcher that hangs on a door. When I lay it on the floor she scratches it because she smells the cat nip inside. But when I hang it on the door she just walks away. How can I get her to scratch it when it's on the door.

You need to try different scratchers until you find the one your kitten likes. Scratchers come in different textures like carpet, cardboard, or sisal. Consider getting a cat tree so she has a place to jump and play. These come with built in scratchers. Make sure to have her spayed to curb her urge to mark her territory (yes, females do it too by scratching and by urinating on things).

Observe Kitty To Determine Play/Scratching Preferences

Honoured Amy:
Welcome to the quirky world of cat entertainment. You are in for a treat.

After indulging my new collection with every toy imaginable, he too finds other ways to amuse himself. The house looks like a pool jungle gym with stretchy critters hanging from doorknobs, mice-themed scratching pads, bells, feathers, you name it.

But Freddy would rather bat a cotton ball down the hallway, chase Barney’s tail, or dive through a hoard of newspapers. Even catnip has no appeal (true of nearly 1/3 of felines).

I often recommend dog owners to “think like a dog”, but it’s even tougher to about like a cat. I’m convinced cat toys are designed more for humans than our feline friends. Everything I bought for Freddy looked like fun to me. No amazement he quizzically watches ME bat the mice around, jingle the bells, as if to say “Are you kidding me?”

Satisfactory the hunt and chase drive of spirited young felines (which I was unfamiliar to after nursing senior kitties for many years) requires a bit of “cat watching”. Most are attracted to moving, which explains why a room full of stationary toys isn’t very electrifying for kitty. Interactive games using feather wands, poles with toys fastened, or even tossing a wad of paper or rolling a ping pong ball around can specify hours of fun. But what they enjoy really depends on the cat.

Emery Cat Reviews

Emery Cat is yet another As Seen On TV product which has created a lot of buzz. My contention was that the sound effects in the commercial was what was making this product so popular, but when I finally figured out what it was for, the Emery Cat made a lot of sense to me.
