Mine was a stray who showed up at our door, a norwegian black forest cat, apparently that's a pretty good breed and he lived a very pampered life before us, not sure why he ended up on the streets but he's just like his breed suggests - out of all our family members he chose me to cling to and now nearly a decade later he is still my snuggle buddy the only unfortunate thing about cats is scooping litter and cleaning up their hairballs lol otherwise they generally take nice care of themselves
if you're going to keep it an indoor cat you may want to look for food that is specific to indoor kitties (it's not much different, I think it's just a leaner diet or something since they aren't as active as kitties that go off for adventures in wide open spaces, LOL) after some many years of having my cat he grew bored of the hard food and started wanting the fancy soft stuff from a can, now he is pampered with both so he has variety, lol. and I always have kitty treats on hand of course me and my cat have a tradition that whenever I leave the house he gets a treat to distract him, lol, otherwise he follows me to the door and I have to see that sad little face watching me leave! i would suggest a cat rescue some might charge you but the fee you pay will pay for the cat neutering normally i got my poppy from a cat rescue she was £40 and she was neutered from that money at my local vets when she was 6 months old best way cats breed like mad lol also would advise you get injections for cat flu as it can kill them if it goes untreated so might as well give them the injection so they done get it lol xxx ooooo I would love a cat! Just a little bit jealous.... Make sure the cat is microchipped, , you could always get an elasticated collar too, with name and address on, just in case they are lost and a neighbour finds them, but definitely get microchipped anyway, if animals are stolen their collars are removed so...
