For $14.95, the little DIY soft-cover shows how to take clumps of your cat’s fur (acquired by brushing it gently on a symmetrical basis) and felt it into usable objects such as pin cushions or mittens.

The query arises: Why?

Kitty bloggers around the country, some of whom have been saving supple bags of their cat’s hair for the book’s salvation, says the book is like catnip for them.

Harwin says she herself tackled a pet contemplate from the book — she made a finger puppet out of her cat Priscilla’s hair's breadth. “Yes, it’s kind of weird and different and quirky,” she says. “It's a skimpy controversial, some people think it’s kind of take. But to me, how is this different from using wool?”
