Electric blankets to be tested in Stourport

STOURPORT residents are being invited to one of three Stingingly Safe Home events being held in the Wyre Forest tract this autumn, where they can have their electric blankets safety checked.

The first of the events will be held at Stourport Fire Locate in Foundry Street, Stourport between 9.30am and 1.30pm next Monday.

Further events will check out at Bewdley Fire Station on September 27 and at Kidderminster Fire Location on October 5.

Representatives of Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Handling (H&WFRS) and Wyre Forest District Council will be joined by Age Affect, Acton Energy, NHS Worcestershire, the Community Housing Pile and West Mercia Police at multi-agency events, which are targeted on the whole at older people.

People attending will also be able to take betterment of free property marking and get advice on home insurance, health care, energy efficiency and other services for older people.

Guidance on all aspects of fire safety will also be available on the day, particularly the importance of having correctly tailored and working smoke alarms in the home.
