Is this really safe for my cats?
I have 4 cats and they have fleas. Frontline and Advantage are very expensive if you buy them from the vet.
I found an 8 month supply of Frontline on ebay for a reasonable price, but it is meant for dogs. My mom and my sister don't trust it since it is meant for dogs, and because they're selling it for such a cheap price. A 3 pack of Feline Frontline bought at the vet would usually run $40-$50. They're selling 8 doses for $16.39. I trust it to a degree because it is sealed in its original package. But is it really safe to use the dog formula on my cats?
It says "Frontline Plus® for dogs and Frontline Plus® for cats both contain 9.8% fipronil (This is the ingredient that kills the fleas.) Frontline Plus® for dogs contains 8.8% (s)methoprene. This is the ingredient that sterilizes the fleas and ticks to prevent reinfestations. Frontline Plus® for cats contains 11.8% (s)methoprene. This slight variance in the formulation will in no way affect the flea killing properties."
I have found multiple auctions on ebay from different companies selling this stuff meant for dogs and recommending it for cats, and they all say the same thing. They say its safe.
Could it really be safe, or are they just trying to get money? help

What if the auction specifies that they are EPA approved? Couldn't they be sued for saying that if they weren't?
cafe mocha, though you made an excellent point and provided evidence, that doesn't mean that ALL frontline auctions on ebay are counterfeit.
You didn't answer my question. I am asking if DOG frontline is safe to use on CATS.

It's a known fact (though clearly not to you) that there's COUNTERFEIT medications being sold on eBay that contain dangerous pesticides that will KILL your pets.
