What do you think of feeding Innova Evo cat/kitten food to ferrets??? ?
I am having trouble finding a ferret food in my area that I am comfortable feeding to my fuzz butts. I'm thinking i might have to go the "high quality kitten food" route.
I've fed my dogs Innova Evo with great success, and am very happy with the company and their products. They DO make a ferret food - but it is hard to track down.

I'm thinking that the Evo cat/kitten formula will work well for my guys...

Both formulas are at 50% protein and 22% fat... First 4 ingredients are identical... Next several ingredients are found in both formulas in slightly different order (Potatoes come before chicken fat in the ferret one) Biggest difference is the addition of Potassium and Taurine in the cat food.
Just wanted to get some opinions from other ferret owners. My guys (rescues) are currently on a crappy chemical and sugar filled corn based food. I need to get some decent food into these guys!

i personally had better luck with the EVO ferret where i work than the EVO cat. both are good, but the cat food was a little richer i think. i always had trouble getting a solid stool, even a month after i put them on it.
Raw meaty bones are fantastic as well. i love that someone mentioned a raw diet for your little guy. it is the most natural and healthy thing for him.
and to stella:
feeding something because it's cheap and because they like it is a bad idea. it would be like you living on snickers because it was cheaper than groceries. they eat less of a healthier food because there isn't as much crap in it, so you are actually saving money (most of the time) by spending more up front. one bag of EVO ferret runs about 20.99 here. one bag lasts about 1.5-2 months. start reading your ingredients, look for low grain high meat. it'll cost more but you'll save so much in the long run.
