Where can I get a large horizontal cat scratcher?
My cat prefers horizontal scratching, and is currently destroying the carpet. He doesn't understand that he can scratch the cardboard scratcher we got him, and while he likes the sisal boards we got (meant to hand from a door knob) he can't understand that he needs to stand on one end to keep if from moving. I think I am looking for a large board wrapped in sisal rope (which he seems to prefer over carpet), but I can't find anything much larger than the two small boards we have, or that is not a vertical post. Anyone know where I can get one? Thought about making one myself, but most of my projects seem to end in disaster.

There are other horizontal scratcher in the market but this one have the longest length and has a flat surface, which cat likes, compared to a cylindrical one.
If you like fancy, then definitely give this a try:-

And another thing that I would like to point out is that those door hanger scratching pads are useless. Cats love to scratch a sturdy surface, be it vertical or horizontal. Outdoor, cats will scratch on tree barks or wood fences. So, having a scratching pad/board that moves and sways will discourage your cat from using it. So, invest on a good scratching pad and your cat will make good use of it.
