The Turbo Cat - Cat Supplies

Difference between Turbo Back and Cat Back Exhaust?

What is the difference between a turbo back exhaust system and a cat back exhaust system? How do they both work? Which would be more efficient for a turbocharged car?

Its pretty much exactly in the name. A cat back exhaust is new piping from the cat-back. Everything before the cat is still the stock, smaller piping.

A turboback is a completely different exhaust from stock. There is no original piping left.

A turboback will give you a lot more performance than a cat-back as it replaces the restrictive downpipe which remains stock on a cat-back sysyem.

If you have the money then go for that.

Team Boardman Cycling Plus

Those nights are representation in.

It’s now nearly a month since the evening club rides came to an end because of a need of light and, sad to say, it is only a few more weeks before the clocks go back which means that for me evening method rides are not really an option. Last year I did not really have a winter design so drifted into buying a turbo and did not get any proper sessions worked out ‘farm after Christmas. This year I want to be better prepared so as to produce the most of this time. So what are the choices for me?

I really want to make reliable I make the most of the winter to get a great solid base for next summer. My end is to knock 2 hours off my Marmotte time and, this being in July, means I will scarcity to hit the ground running (is that a real phrase for a cyclist?) in the skip.

This week I spoke to Joe Beer, our coach, about the type of training program I could put in make a splash. The week breaks down simply into two sections, when I can get out on the road and when I cannot. For me this is the weekend and weekdays but I suppose some will have different ‘weekends’. My weekday training will be wave or turbo based. Rollers for smooth quality riding, keeping the brotherly love rate below 80% of max, concentrating on keeping still on the bike and keeping the bike on the rollers and the turbo for fortitude or sprint work. I should be able to fit in two roller and one turbo session per week.

06 wrx upgrade??? - Subaru WRX Forum: WRX Forums

I have an 06 wrx with A turbo xs downpipe with an apexi cat back a Cobb access port and an aem cold air intake, I'm wondering and hoping someone could tell me what kind of advantage an aftermarket up pipe would give me at this point as far as horse power, sound, turbo spooling etc.... Would like my exhaust to carry a little deeper of a tone not sure if that would do the trick. But aside from that wondering what my next "affordable" upgrade could be to get a couple more ponies outa this thing. I appreciate any suggestions and or constructive critisism. Thanks in advance. An up pipe will get you next to nothing. Yours is already catless and getting an up pipe for the earlier years was more of a safety modification. If you are running just the OTS map from Cobb an actual tune would net you more power than what you are getting right now. Aside from that the next step is pretty much a turbo upgrade.
