I am looking to build an extra large window perch for my dogs and they need stairs to get up to the perch so they can look out the window. Is this hard to do? I am looking for something basic - nothing real fancy.
I already checked out all of the cat perches and they are not wide enough. I have pretty large windows and I would like something that is 30 to 36 inches wide so both dogs can be on it at the same time.
If you have any links for me - that would be GREAT!
Thanks!
Sweetie.....you would probably get better, more specific answers if you asked this in "do it yourself" section.....lots of carpentry people there.

URBANANIMAL: Cat enclosures, leashes allow cats to be outdoors safely
20.09.11
At great cost UrbanAnimal, I read your column about your cat and his squirrel friend and although I'd like to tolerate my cat, Roger, the same opportunity to enjoy outdoor activities, this isn't realizable. He's declawed (not my choice - he was already declawed when I adopted him) so I perturbation about how he would defend himself if he got into trouble out there. He seems content to stay indoors, but he often sits on the windowsill, mewing or hissing at the alfresco cats he sees, and I feel badly he can't be part of it. So I looked online for alternatives and have ordered a kit to found an enclosure that will allow him to go outside through a window and into an outdoor shelter. The safety is sold by a company called Habitat Haven. Other people may be interested in canny about this alternative. Mary P. Thank you for your suggestion, Mary. Realm Haven is at www.habitathaven.com and I spent an enjoyable hour looking through their wide-ranging line of modular outdoor pet enclosure products.
