DIY Dog Toys
14.09.11
Dog toys don't have to be up-market purchases. There are many toys that you can make at home, and which your dog will like by a hair's breadth as much. Here are instructions for making a few basic toys for your pup.
Please note that you should always govern your dog when he is playing with any homemade toys. Never include pieces that could burke or strangle your dog. If your dog starts to destroy the toy or eat portions of it, take the toy away and rectify a newer, sturdier version. Get creative but always keep your dog's safety in out for!
1. Fleece Braid Tug Toy
These toys are often sold in pet stores for up to $15 but they are undoubtedly easy to make at home and can be fashioned from various materials. You can use denim, clip or even an old T-shirt, but make sure the fabric you use is not chemically treated.
Cut three 12-inch strips of cloth (use shorter lengths for smaller dogs). Tie a very tight bond at one end, then double-knot it to ensure the braid stays together.
