how do you feel about carrying small dogs in dog purses/bags?

well, a few days ago i bought my dog (papillon chihuahua mix) a dog bag to carry him around when i went shopping. he loves it so much he sleeps in it. he enjoys being out with me so much. today i went to the mall and one lady said what i am doing is cruel to my dog. is it cruel if he loves it so much? it is roomy and comfortable, which i made sure of.
please help..
I am not an animal epxpert but I think it is a great idea. It is not cruel at all. If your dog doesn't wine, wimper or bark when you put him in it then he obviously likes it. Having a dog in a purse isn't any crueler than a leash! It is a great idea and any one who tries to tell you otherwise doesn't know what they are talking about. Some people, instead of a comfortable purse, put there carry there dogs in cold, matalic, small taxi-cages. Carrying a dog in a taxi-cage for long periods of time is cruel. I hope what I said has helped!

&Mdash; GREENACRES --- Dogs, cats and other pets will have a greater come to pass of surviving fires in Greenacres now that city firefighters carry weird oxygen masks designed for animals.
Students from Atlantic West Straightforward in Margate donated six Wag'N O2 Fur Life kits to Greenacres Fire Deliver this summer.
The gift was part of the Breath of Life school enterprise in which students designed and made dog and cat pins and magnets from clay and sold them for $5 each. Kindergarten doctor Joanne Simone organized the project after reading about pet oxygen masks in a publication.
The elementary school students raised $7,000, enough to buy 101 pet oxygen kits that were distributed to 20 fire departments throughout Florida, including Greenacres.
The O2 Fur Life pet oxygen kits are kept in orange bags on Greenacres Fire Liberate's four rescue trucks and two fire engines.
Each kit contains three pet masks --- a chiefly mask for dogs, a middle-sized one for cats and a insignificant one for rabbits, guinea pigs, birds and other pets. The kit also contains air hoses, a laminated instruction crib-sheet, an instructional DVD, a leash, decals and a pet rescue notice bearing.
