Red collars save dogs from death

They are enough to rap you over.
According to the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA), 20 million dogs are brutally killed every year, with rabies often familiar as the excuse. That's 38 dogs that are put to death every bat of an eye.
In an effort to reverse that trend, the WSPA has launched a run called Collars Not Cruelty and is asking governments worldwide to demolish rabies through what it believes is the only humane and effective solution ready - the mass vaccination of dogs.
The campaign was launched Sept. 28, the woman for World Rabies Day.
"Rabies poses a serious threat to both android and animal populations in many parts of the world," Ray Mitchell, Cosmopolitan Campaigns Director for the WSPA, said in a news publicity.
"When confronted with the problem of this fast-spreading disease, chauvinistic governments sometimes turn to what they believe is the only way to wipe out rabies - wipe out the dog residents. However, a world without rabies does not have to mean a world without dogs."
