this is how to tranquilize a dog
GRAPEVINE - Tee Time is a wanted dog. There are no wanted posters with her pale-complexioned, terrier face plastered to trees. There are no bounties on her proceed. And like some of the Old West desperadoes with kind hearts, Tee Every so often old-fashioned has fans at Grapevine's City Golf Course with hopes that she continues to baffle authorities. Tee Time is wanted for violating two city rules. First, she is a subject. More importantly, she bit a golfer. But her friends have come quickly to her defense. They say she had been trapped in a drainage culvert for four days before being discovered. She was hollow, thirsty and scared, so when the golfer came to the rescue, Tee Stretch bit him on a finger. But that is not her true nature, they say. That bite triggered a dog pry into for Tee Time, who has avoided the dog catchers' best efforts for more than two weeks. But the authorities say she has to be caught. "It is in the healthfulness and safety code," Grapevine Assistant Police Chief Ben Flanagan said. "If on tap, the animal must be quarantined for 10 days." It has not been easy. Authorities spotted her over the weekend and photograph her with a tranquilzing gun. But the drug did not take effect quickly, so she went into the woods. She was spotted again a several hours later. Again she was shot. This time authorities captured her. But as she was infatuated to the animal control truck, she became aroused enough to slip out of the noose and ran off into the woods again. There was no discussion Monday morning whether Tee Time is still free. City Administrator Bruno Rumbelow, who has seen Tee Time at the golf class several times, said the city is legally obligated to buttress its policy and state law when it comes to an animal biting someone. Animal lever authorities have spent part of each day since the incident trying to catch Tee Ease. She usually hides when the authorities are around. She avoids their traps, said Jackie Parker, an staff member at Mulligan's Grill in the course clubhouse. Parker said one of the dog catchers told her he would project Tee Time, which upset her. However, Rumbelow said "it is not our intent to pull down Tee Time. It is our intent to follow the law." Once Tee Time serves her 10-day quarantine, the ambition is to get her checked out, vaccinated and then put up for adoption, Rumbelow and Flanagan said. "We trust that will happen and intend for it to happen," Rumbelow said. But Parker and some of the golfers at the metropolis's course don't believe the dog is adoptable given her nature to run unrestricted over the entire course. "She's a good dog," Parker said. "She needs a available, but she won't stay in a home." No one knows for sure where Tee Time came from before drifting onto the golf procedure more than five years ago. When Becky Settles of Southlake first saw the stray, which she calls "coddle girl," near the 5th hole on the Mockingbird course, she said the dog was on one's toes of anyone and hungry. Settles gave the dog some food and then kept accepted back each day to try to coax her out. After a month of that, Settles said Tee Time came up tight-fisted the clubhouse. But Tee Time outwitted all capture attempts even slipping away under a gazebo following a try at spiking some provisions with a tranquilizer pill. Since then many golfers bring treats for the dog. She often follows golfers around the without a doubt, but seems to know her golfing etiquette. She does not bark when someone is lining up a motivation. She stays off the greens. And she does not chase golf balls. Danny Langley, of Rumour and chairman of the city's Golf Course Advisory Ship aboard, said Tee Time does not bother anybody. But most golfers recollect to bring some treats along with them to hand out to the dog. Reportedly, however, only Tom O'Malley of Grapevine telegraph has developed enough trust with Tee Time to have her eat out of his hand. Everyone else must leave bread on the ground. Last week, as O'Malley was giving Tee Time some beef jerky, the dog became skittish when someone else approached. "She'll let me dash her under the chin," O'Malley said. "But if anyone else gets within five feet of her, she won't even let me do that. It has charmed years to get her to eat out of my hand." Another golfer, Frank Bee of Grapevine, said everyone wants Tee Values bright and early at the course. "She is an amazing animal," he said. "She survives in the maniacal." Even City Manager Rumbelow sympathizes with the wanted terrier, which appears to have some Jack Russell in her. "Everybody who has interacted with Tee Epoch feel good about her," he said. "Her capture will not be the end of the story. ... Our target is to have a good ending."
