Frontline Red - Dog Supplies

Local Authority Red Tape Wastes £4.5billion a year that could be spent on frontline services?

apparently, that works out at £11 per person wastage - surely more than a coincidence this has thrived under "New" Labour.s overall stewardship of the UK? After all they believe in throwing money at everything, and quantity rather than quality?
Figure in today's press.

Am not surprised in the least - and how much is wasted at Central Government level - I would say several £billions more. How many useless quangos, committees, departments and organisations have been created under Labour - what are their remits - where is their value for money - what is their purpose - have they any "clout"? to all of those questions the answer is a resounding NO.

Chas1 : so we deserve the Government/Councils that we elect - well what about the people that DID NOT vote for them - and I would be included in that number. I can tell you one thing - as a hardworking taxpayer I DO NOT deserve the useless bunch of cretins that are currently in office centrally and locally. Furthermore - if my performance at work was as appalling as the performance of our so-called Government and Local Councils I would be out of my job quicker than I could say "expenses scam" - I would be fired for gross misconduct, fraud and incompetence to name but a few.

GPS Gets Even With Volleyball Win Over Red Bank

Not not up to par any more momentum to swing Red Bank's way, the Bruisers broke from a 19-19 tie to goat the next five points, but had to hang on for dear life before prevailing, 25-23.

Red Bank has enjoyed zealous success this season behind hard-hitting Savannah Nelson and Danielle Moore on the front word.

The Bruisers were ready for the challenge and got superb defensive efforts from Jeneh Perry, Tory Kemp and Destinee Lansden to even out Red Bank's frontline power.

Needless to say, GPS coach Paul Brock was tickled pink to win a match at home against an opponent with a strong volleyball form.

"We struggled with them earlier at their place, but we put up a good block defense in the midriff today," Brock explained.

"Sara Griffith stepped up today and played her with greatest satisfaction match of the season. She played well up front and on the back row.

"Losing to them the first time was a OK champion driving force for us today. We have three big region matches this

Can Gordon's smarter government sustain the frontline? - Public ...

Some in local government optimistically view it as a war on centralism while public service trade unions deem it to be the latest skirmish in the battle between the main political parties to see who can cut the most. But the truth about Gordon Brown's military-themed Putting the Frontline First report probably lies somewhere between the two contrasting stances. The "smarter not smaller" government proposals promise to find an extra £3bn a year of efficiency savings by streamlining the civil service, abolishing a number of quangos, relocating government agencies outside of London, increasing collaborative procurement, removing ring- fenced budgets and better and more transparent use of data. At the same time, they pledge a citizen guarantee of high standards in core areas including health, education and policing as well as repeating the often-trumpeted localism reforms – or, as the Prime Minister puts it, the "diffusion of power as the next stage of public service reform". Whether neighbourhood policing, empowered headteachers and unshackled doctors really will be able to respond to individual needs – as is promised by Labour's "third generation of public services" – at a time when budgets are at best flat, is unclear. But some £600m will be saved by delivering services online, says Brown. A revision of inspectorates could also generate £100m of efficiencies while reducing public sector sickness absence might expand the coffers by £40m. Labelled by Prospect, the civil service union, as a "scattergun set of cutbacks" that will demotivate staff , Brown's report is praised though by the unions for his deathbed conversion to cutting the £900m annual government spend on consultants by 50 per cent. An act that Alan Leaman of the Management Consultancies Association suggests is "perverse" because it will rob departments of the private sector's most effective tools to uncover savings. But the Public and Commercial Services Union still accuses government of holding the "sale of...
