Police: NY Man With 45 Baggies Of Heroin Arrested In Mahwah

Mahwah the cops arrested a Monroe, NY man who was driving through the township with 45 baggies of heroin and akin drug paraphernalia, Police Chief James Batelli said Monday.
Daniel R. Iams was charged with chattels, intent to distribute, and other charges after police found the heroin, glassine baggies, hypodermic needles, sprinkle spray, and other paraphernalia inside his Ford Taurus, Batelli said.
Iams was from the beginning pulled over for speeding by Officer John Lange.
“A computer on showed an active warrant out of Passaic County and Mr. Iams was placed under run in based upon the strength of the warrant,” Batelli said.
Mahwah oversee were able to obtain a search warrant after an investigation led officers to think there were illegal substances in the car, Batelli said.
The investigation was conducted by Officers John Lange and Richard Albro and Mahwah K-9 Segment Officer Rob Rapp and Dome.
“Iams was turned over to Passaic County authorities where he was incarcerated in the Passaic County Hoosegow for the violation of probation warrant,” Batelli said.
