What is your opinion on using a Lectro Kennel warming pad for a whelping pad?

I have a litter of boxer puppies that are due to arrive in a couple of weeks and I just purchased a Lectro Kennel warming pad for them. I got the optional temp control also. The litter will be in my home/not outside. I will give them space to get away from it also. I would appreciate any feedback on using a warming pad and also Im curious as to what temp it should be set at. Thanks in advance.
If your pups are inside, then you honestly dont need the warming pad. The will find warmth from their mother and littermates.
Pups, at birth, are also known to become over-heated when a breeder puts in a warming device, ie; hot water bottle, pad, etc. and has resulted in puppy fatality. Young puppies are not quite able to move away from something too warm at such an early age.
You're best just to let mom and the siblings do what they know best.

K&H Lectro-Kennel Igloo-Style Heated Pad, Large

My dogs only live outside during the day and they are pretty much couch potatoes in the house the rest of the time. However, once in a blue moon, my husband and I go away for 1 night and the dogs get to "camp out". Since we live in Utah, and it does get cold here, I bought heated pads to put in their dog houses. They weren't quite sure how to deal with them and I had to take the fleece cover off because Bosco thought it was something to play with! Since the weather has dipped into negative numbers, the dogs have been delighted to have the warmers in their dog houses. They may seem pricey, but for my peace of mind (and for the dogs' overall warmth!) it was money well spent!
