Hmm… well both have pros and cons.
Dogs tend to be a lot friendlier and more happy than cats are. Cats tend to be more independent. But because they’re more independent, cats also tend to need less care. They still need to be trained, but dogs take a lot more time and effort to train.
It also depends on what kind of dog or cat you get, as different breed act differently.
Personally, I would get both a dog and a cat, but only get them if they’re both young. That way, they’ll at least be used to one another and closer to one another. However, this would take twice the work, as well as a lot of money. Only get both if you think you’re ready to handle it.
If you still can’t decide, I would start with a smaller pet. Rabbits and hamsters are fairly easy to take care of, but they don’t live very long. That way, you can ease into getting a pet and know what you need to do in order to step into getting a cat ot a dog.
