Do all cats use the Piddle pads for dogs when they feel like spraying indoors?
My cats are using the piddle puppy pads i am using for paper training my puppy?
Wonder if they are now never going to stop using them instead of spraying in the house?
Since I have begfun putting them down on the carpets the cats no longer spray the carpets?
my cat will not stop spraying evben though she is spayed....
she was spraying marking our carpets till she started using piddle pads for puppies...
No i do not like it but i would hate to give a cat away for marking the carpets so the piddle pads seem to keep her from messing out carpets up now?
sad but true...
It is important to make sure that your cat is actually spraying and not urinating. Spraying the cat stands and puts it bottom usually against a flat upright surface. The spray comes out horizontally. This is done to mark territory and territory marking is always increased when the cat is stressed or new individuals added into the family (human or animal). Cats more often spray when other cats are in their territory.
Urination is where the cat squats with its bottom to the floor and leaves a puddle. If your cat has a urinary tract infection she will be doing this almost constantly but only leaving a small amount of urine each time.
Either way there is A LOT that can be done for your cat yet. There are two products clomicalm and feliway that have been developed specifically to at least reduce or even eliminate spraying. If your cat has an infection it will continue to urinate inappropriately until treated with antibiotics. A quick trip to the vet should make your life less miserable in no time. They should not only be able to diagnose the problem but treat it as well. Just make sure that they stock products (smaller clinics do not always) for spraying cats before you go. Good luck.
