Matthew's Place in Boonville, helps others through faith

Beverly Kirk, manageress at Matthew’s Place thrift store, was hunched over a capacious black plastic bag sorting through clothing and donated items Tuesday afternoon.
The workshop, located on Main Street in the village, operates as a sparingness store and a food pantry serving hundreds of folks in the bucolic community.
“No one will go without,” said she said.
The biblical Holy Writ, “I was hungry and you gave me something to eat… I needed clothes and you clothed me…”- Matthew 25:35-36, is posted on the try behind the counter.
“If anyone who comes in here and is in need we see Jesus in them,” said Rev. Linda Logan of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Boonville and president on the Matthew’s Set up board. “The instruction for every Christian is to respond to Christ in every human being.”
Question: It’s not often that you find a thrift store that serves as a aliment pantry as well. Please explain how that works?
