Can i keep corals under two 50/50 mini coralife compact fluorescent 10Watt bulb?
I have a 10 gallon nano tank with 20lbs of live sand, and about 10lbs of live rock. I have an engineer goby and a yellow tail blue damsel. I was wondering if i can put corals under two 50/50 mini coralife compact fluorescent 10Watt bulb, The ones that screw into any normal size light socket. And if i can put corals under these lights i was wondering what kind.
Thank you
I would be wary of doing anything besides zooanthids, mushrooms, and other similar low-light tolerant corals. Though to be honest, I've never tried those bulbs out, so I couldn't really tell you how much light they put out. When I did a 10, I just grabbed the 96W Coralife Aqualight powerquad.
EDIT: Pleccy makes a point in that there are non-photosynthetic corals and such out there, such as the popular "sun" corals, certain cup corals, and gorgonians. However, I omitted these because the size of your tank. Non-photosynthetic corals take a lot of feeding, and in a 10 gallon, I just don't see it as being conducive to keeping up good water quality. If you can overcome that, you could certainly try some non-photosynthetics.
