How long should i leave the lights on in my saltwater tank? I have a dual satellite lighting system?
I currently have a 29 gallon saltwater tank that my boyfriend and i just set up. We bought a Current USA Satellite Dual Compact Fluorescent, 2X65 Watt, 30 inch lighting system and received very little information about it. I have searched the internet trying to find informaiton about which light should be used for what time of day. It has both the white and blue bulbs and the lunar light for night. I was just curious to see if anyone could provide me with some information on it or information about time frames for using the particular lights. If you know of any good websites on this light, that would also be extremely helpful.
The first answer you received is freshwater info and I wouldn't follow its suggestion.
Typically you would run the actinics (blue lights) about 12 hours a day and the white lights for 8 hours. Have the actinics come on two hours before the whites and have them stay on 2 hours longer. The lunar lights should be on when the other lights are not.
