how to differentiate between male and female guppy fish?
how do i differentiate between a male and female guppy fish, tell me the most characteristic features of differenciation... and also when shall i introduce the fry in the aquaruim with all others after birth?
Do the females have the gravid spot always, or only when they are pregnant? And i observed a gravid spot in a female guppy the day i bought it from the Market, and seperated it in a different bowl, alone, so that the other fishes do not eat the fry. Am i doing right?!
The Male guppy has a larger fan-tail than the female, The Females will have a dark spot, toward the base of the tail, this is called the gravid spot and gets darker when the female gets pregnant. I always wait to introduce the fry when they are to big to be ate by the other fish.
