Filter 10 Gallons Aquarium - Fish Supplies

What is the best and cleanest brand of filter for a 10 gallon aquarium?

I currently use Penguin Ready to use cartridges but for some reason they don't seem to clean as good. What kind of filter do you use and is it good for a 10 gallon?
I currently have 3 guppies 2 mickey mouse tailed platties, and 2 dojos for bottom feeders.
I'm not looking for whats cheapest as thats not an issue. I'm concerned about my fish

I am currently using the Tetra Whisper PF10 Filtration System and it's perfect for my ten gallon tank because it kept my tank cleaned for three months in a row without me having to change the cartridges every two weeks; all i do is check and see if the filter is slimy and if so i just rinse it. But the work of the filter depends on the type of fish you have; if you have goldfish then your filter will get real messy rather than if you have small tropical fish. I am a small tropical fish lover, so i currently have 3 sunset platy, 2 tiger barbs, 2 black widow fish, one glow fish, one guppy, three golden platy, and one Chinese algae eater that really helps keep the tank clean, as you can see they are all pretty much small fish and they make small waist, just enough for the algae eater and filter to handle. My tank has been crystal clear, and i only replace the cartridges every four-five months, since it doesn't get used pretty quick. Here's the link to the filter: http://www.petco.com/product/107131/Tetr a-Whisper-PF10-Filtration-System.aspx my fish loves that filter because it also purifies the water and provide them enough oxygen.

Question?

Can I get danio to spawn in 1 ten gallon tank if I divided it into five gallon sides and removed the adults once the eggs have been laid? Because my dad said if I could get fry from them and start raising them in the spare 10 galon tank I have right now I would be able to get another 10 gallon tank to keep adults seperate from fry and also have a grow out tank for the fry. And also how do I tell when the danio have laid eggs so I can take them out of the spawning tank? I was gonna breed celestial pearl danios because I wanted to make some money and they are like $8 a fish. i have never breed fish, but i have looked into it. i think as long as the parents are unable to consume the fry/eggs, and they are not threatened by the filter, it might work. when you breed them, put a layer of marbels at the bottom, so the eggs can fall trough and avoid being consumed. some other more experienced people will come along and be able to give a more definite answer. if i were you, i would get the new tank ahead of time and breed them in that Wait until a time your female is looking plump, then put her and a male into the divided side one evening, feed them once while they are in the divided side, turn the light off as normal. In the morning, make the room light by opening curtains or something, but don't put the aquarium light on, after 30 minutes to and hour put the aquarium light on, leave the adults in the tank with the light on for another 10-20 mins, then move them back to the otherside.
