What do they do to the fish on fishtanks in supermarkets?
You know, the live fish on some aquarium on the meat section. Are they being sold alive or dead? If they're going to end up dead anyway, then why do they have to keep them on an aquarium? Why not just kill them and then display them on a large freezer like the rest of the fish on the meat section?
Supposedly it's to keep them fresh.
It doesn't.
Those fish are starving and choking on their own waste. How is that fresh? The fish are consuming nutrients stored in their livers and fat, so we don't get those nutrients. The fish are absorbing ammonia, nitrites and nitrates from their own waste that they are swimming in.
The fish are in those tanks because people are stupid, that is the only reason.
