Would a black light CFL (compact fluorescent) bulb work for hunting for scorpions?
Want to put together the most powerful black light I can afford for the purpose of finding scorpions around my house and inside. I'm thinking that using a power cord with a compact fluorescent black light bulb at the end might be the best way to do it. I've heard that the incandescent black lights aren't good enough, and the battery operated ones are really expensive at that power level. Does anyone know if this would work?
It works! They show up purple. I did road hunting in Arizona with one plugged into the cigarette lighter. Very cool!
