What is the best way to build a cheap and modern aquarium stand?

I have been searching all over the place and just can't find something that I like. I don't like the cheap looking wooden stands. The nice ones at furniture stores just won't hold the weight. Please advise....
The first link is for a site that you pay $12.97 for a set of plans for a specific size aquarium. The second and third has the plan directly on the site, but it is only for one size. You would have to modify it to fit your particular size aquarium.

Felicity Kendal, an English actress, is credited with first saying: “Celebrity breeds success…” The annual reefkeeping convention known as Reef-A-Palooza (RAP) represents a real-crowd materialization of this notion in spades.
The brainchild of Marc Trimble, president of the Southern California Naval Aquarium Society (SCMAS) from 1994 to 2006, Reef-A-Palooza began as a backyard frag swap with a barbeque, procrastinating foods, folding chairs and a few dozen hobbyists. From this submissive beginning, RAP has grown up to become the most popular marine aquarium show in the United States. In 2010, Reef-A-Palooza saw more than 3,200 visitors over two days.
