Girl From Mars » Blog Archive » Been a while

But to be honest I haven’t done much to write about, but I’ll waffle on about what little I did anyway. Back to about the December 22nd, when I published the last post, off work and free to do, er more Christmas Shopping and general faffing about, a day and a half to sort out things before I had to go visit the Family for Christmas, suppose I could of sneaked in some Helena time, but just didn’t get around to it. Managed to get presents, spoilt the Nephews a little (5 year Nephew number 1 is really into Starwars at the moment :)) and even book my holiday before departing for darkest Lincolnshire (I typed Lincolnshite there at the first, Freudian slip?). Oh yea holiday, I’m off to Saalbach-Hintergleem in Austria at the end of February with my snowboard, place looks like its has a massive quality of fine Pistes to play with, though it could do with a little more snow right now,

Christmas with the family, stayed with my parents and visited and got visited by the siblings and their families and ate and drank far to much, usual really. And there was the usual awkwardness about me being the only singleton, I tended to leave the grown ups to talk and go play with kids and/or cats and dog, spent most of Christmas day building Lego kits. Big news was my sister announcing another was on the way, her 2nd. Not a bad Christmas really and it was a white one

I can cope with my family for a short while, so was out of there on Sunday, whisked home by surprisingly efficient public transport.

Monday, had sort of planned to have a Helena day, but by the time I was out of bed and defuzzed it was gone lunchtime and I just couldn’t find the energy to get made up went to town en bloke instead and ogled snowboard kit instead.

Tuesday, after yesterdays failure at doing much I had to try and do something, so I packed my board and went to Milton Keynes for a few runs. Place was a mad house, its definitely the snow dome silly season at the moment, they didn’t have any free slots till 1:30 (I had arrived around 10:30), fortunately they let me stash my board bag there while I went shopping to kill the time. Kind of promised my self some new snowboarding boots so I went off to find the shop I got my first pair from as think they had a better range and service than the shop in the snowdome. The Shop, the BBC (Bucks Boarding Centre) isn’t in central MK, its in a little shopping precinct off to one side about 40 minutes walk from the dome, I didn’t have a map and hadn’t been there for nearly 3 years, but managed to get there surprisingly easily. My sense of direction is quite good, but this is technically a male trait isn’t it.
