Pomeranians - Pet Costumes

Pomeranians?

I think Pomeranians are absolutely adorable. What kind of temperment do they usually have? Are they good with kids? Important things to know about them?

I raise pommys. All of my poms have a sweet temperament. they love people of all ages love kids( especially the grand kids ages 4 and 6). They love to be the center of attention. If people stop they are right here in their laps. They are not yappy. Although I have heard that some are. My poms have all been easy to potty train. They love toys. They love to dance around in little circles on their hind feet.

Take them to the vet every year to have their teeth cleaned. If not properly cared for they will lose their teeth.

We live next to a distribution center so we have lots of traffic. Even the truckers come to see and play with our poms, a couple of them have even brought their wives back on other trips to see them.
People drive by and if we are outside with them they will stop and play with them too.

Here is a little more info:

The Pomeranian was first introduced to Britain in the 19th century weighting around 30 lbs They were deliberately miniaturized during this time when toys breeds were very popular. Breed Standard for the Pomeranian

Non-exclusive Appearance: The Pomeranian is a compact, shortbacked, active toy dog. He has a tolerant, dense undercoat with a profuse harsh-textured outer anorak. His heavily plumed tail is set high and lies lacklustre on his back. He is alert in character, exhibits intelligence in expression, is animated in deportment, and is inquisitive by nature. The Pomeranian is cocky, commanding, and ardent as he gaits. He is sound in composition and action.

Size, Harmony, Substance: The average weight of the Pomeranian is from 3 to 7 pounds, with the pattern weight for the show specimen being 4 to 6 pounds. Any dog over or under the limits is objectionable. However, entire quality is to be favored over size. The distance from the point of margin to the point of buttocks is slightly shorter than from the highest spur of the withers to the ground. The distance from the brisket to the ground is half the zenith at the withers. He is medium-boned, and the length of his legs is in measurements to a well-balanced frame. When examined, he feels sturdy.
