Halloween costumes for rabbits?

So, I want to dress up my rabbit for Halloween, but I don't know where to get a costume for rabbits. I've seen really small ones for dogs and I've been thinking about getting one for him, but I want to check if they make costumes for rabbits.

First of all see if your rabbit will be okay with wearing a costume some rabbits absolutely love it, some rabbits don't really notice or care about a costume, but some rabbits hate costumes and will destroy it while trying to get it off. If your rabbit is calm, quite, and lazy (like one of mine was) then it probably won't faze him.

If you think your rabbit will be able to handle a costume(if he doesn't mind wearing a harness (http://www.petco.com/product/10498/Super -Pet-Comfort-Harness-and-Stretchy-Stroll er.aspx) then he will likely be more able to adapt to a costume) than I would just get the small dog costumes or if you have a small rabbit than you can probably get away with a build-a-bear costume(my rabbit used to love being dressed like an elf during Christmas time. He would hop around happily every time he wore it) They do make rabbit costumes I think, but you have to find them on the internet and they are expensive and very limited. A small costume is likely to be better suited for your bunny, easier to get, and less expensive.

Hope this helps!

I hope you and your bunny have a very hoppy halloween!

Top hat and tails — literally — at fair costume contest

Reese looked on tenterhooks. All the young contestants seemed a bit ill at ease, shifting nervously in their costumes, watching the clamorous crowd, waiting for the contest to start. Luckily she had a carrot to keep her hustling.

The chocolate junior doe mini rex, along with owner Cassandra Smith, was one of the 25 rabbits and cavies (guinea pigs) that competed Tuesday shades of night in a costume contest at the Kern County Fair. (Poultry power was also in full so to speak as 10 birds competed in a separate contest.)

Cassandra, a sec-grader at Golden Hills Elementary in Tehachapi, won move place in the peewee class as a "girl conjurer." This is her second year competing.

Mom Brenda Smith said Cassandra's attire was easy to put together, using a dress from a ballet recital and shoes that Grandma bought at the skimping store.

"The only thing I had to buy was the cape," Smith said.

Waving her pencil staff dramatically over a top hat made of a chicken bucket spray-painted shameful, Cassandra repeatedly performed the trick of making Reese look from the hat.

Confessions of a Costumeholic: Movie Monday: Alice in Wonderland

January is a bit slow when it comes to new movies. After all, the Holidays are over, everyone has gone back to work or school, and people need to stop spending for awhile to get over the shopping frenzy that has been going on this past month. So I decided to mention an up-coming movie that has been on everyone's must watch list for quite some time: . What I love right away in the whole look of this costume is the contrast of the dark red lips with the pallor of the skin, hair and dress. It makes everything seem whiter. In this case, the dress seems inspired by Victorian times: large, voluminous skirt, off the shoulder short puffed sleeves and a chocker necklace. I have to say, this is my personal favourite. . There are so many details to this costume that I don't know where to begin. The main item is of course his top hat, which seems made of crocheted green lace, has a dusty rose trim, many hat pins, a peacock feather, and a 10/6 note. Add to this a frock coat, a wide bow-tie in a crazy print, orange "Einstein" hair and lime green eyes and just staring at this strange character will make you go mad. I love costumes. I love to imagine them, research them, and make them. I own many books on costuming. My favorite store is the fabric store. I go to the movies for the costumes. I try to find things to do that will give me an excuse to make and wear costumes. Am I obsessed? Maybe, but I find it's a healthy obsession. I've never much liked to spend a fortune to go clubbing, I don't smoke or do drugs, nor have I ever, but I sew and dress up as a movie characters and go to charity events where kids get to take their picture with me if they want to. And you know what's more? I'm not the only one...
