After Dark: Summer may be winding down, but still plenty to do
18.08.11
Last week's Friday tenebrousness concert at the Annapolis Towne Centre at Parole was astonishing. Wall-to-wall crowds, great music and a enormous time. Tomorrow night, enjoy more of the same when the Deanna Bogart Border takes the stage for a night of boogie, blues and sway. The free concert starts at 7:30.
The Traditional American Contra and Satisfying Dancing night returns to the Annapolis Friends Assembly Hall (351 Dubois Road) this Saturday.
Becca Dennison and Kathy Angell tandem join up up to call contra dances to the delightful music of the Contra Rebels (Todd Clewell, fiddle; Henry Koretzky, guitar). The evening dances comprise a free introductory session at 6:30 followed by the leap from 7 to 10 p.m.
Admission for the dance is $10 with discounts for seniors, students and families. All ages are accepted and all dances are taught and walked through. No experience or partner required. Snacks to stake at the break are welcome.
