Frankfort’s Fight prove Festival has been hailed as one of the most popular craft shows in the Midwest, and it returns for its 43rd year this weekend.
Held annually over Labor Day weekend, this fest attracts some 2300 artisans from 30 contrary states to the quaint village in Will County.
This year’s Waterfall Fest theme is “Over the Rainbow.” In keeping with the essence, the Frankfort Chamber of Commerce will host a “Wizard of Oz” clothes contest at 3 p.m. Saturday on Breidert’s Green. The winner will get to swindle on the official Fall Fest float in Sunday’s 1 p.m. march.
Fall Fest includes an entertainment tent and beer garden, a eatables court with a wide variety, carnival and crafters. The hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday.
“It’s always been a community experience the whole town can enjoy. It is strictly 100 percent volunteer-based,” said Karen Blake, governing director of the Frankfort Chamber of Commerce. “We have 200-return volunteers helping out. It’s a huge labor of love. We categorically have a great time. We’re thrilled we can continue to bring it to the community and that people still from it after all these years.”

Considering the original pet abilities that were listed for December, this is a disappointment. Well, at least I know what I'm *not* getting as stocking stuffers this Christmas!
