Safety of 40 gallon reptile tank?

Is it safe to use a 40 gallon reptile tank as a fish tank? They seem to be the dimensions of a 40 gallon breeder aquarium. There is a decent price difference between both. My worry is having my living room coated w/ water and sand and fish lol


I do NOT suggest doing that. Reptile tanks are usually made with thinner glass. a fish aquarium uses thicker glass to support the weight of the water. Unless you want a room full of water, I would spend the extra money and get a fish tank! They are more expensive for a reason...

If you love the idea of owning a pet, but aren’t quite unfaltering that a furry companion is right for your lifestyle, you may want to make allowance for the wonderful world of turtles. These fascinating reptiles can dream up fantastic pets, ranging from 4 to 10 or more inches, that lack little physical interaction, but they still need lots of sorrow to handle their sometimes specific dietary and environmental requirements.

Before you foothold any turtle, keep the following things in mind: lifespan and restricted laws. Certain types of turtles may live 50 years to upwards of 100 years or more and make more than one owner. Check your area for turtle shelters and rescues to converse about ways to handle your long-living friend. In in, due to risks of salmonella infections, local laws may preclude certain types of turtles.
