I want to buy a chameleon lizard, i have owned many reptiles before so, is this an easy pet to take care of?
is this pet easily accessible to the public to purchase?
anything else you could tell me would help, thanks!
also, which is the best as a pet/easy to care for.?..Veiled, Assorted Panther Morphs, Yellow-head Jackson's, Assorted Fisher's, Usambala Mountain,Senegal, etc...
Purchasing a pet chameleon should involve researching the species, looking at photos, and finding a reputable breeder. These stunning animals are often kept in captivity. However, they are definitely not for the beginners. They easily get stressed and their keeping requirements are rather specific. They do not tolerate frequent handling. If you want to be able to handle an animal, consider another kind.
A healthy captive bred lizard should be active and bright, capable of changing colors.
It goes without saying that you cannot expect the friendliness of a dog from this creature. The veiled species is most commonly kept in houses. It needs a fairly large enclosure and good care.
These reptiles are astounding creatures, however, there are doubts as to whether it is wise to keep them at home. They are certainly not for the person who has never had exotic animals in his or her home. The requirements of these reptiles are quite specific, and they can be easily stressed.
