Can you sit a basking light on top of an Exo-Terra screen top?

I have one of the clamp lamps but the clamp is so annoying. I have an exo-terra glass terrarium with the screen top and i didn't know if i could just sit the clamp lamp on top of the screen top or do i need to clamp it? The only reason i'm asking is because i don't know if the screen top is heatproof. thanks!
screen tops are usually heat proof. i have my lamps just sittng right on the screen
