Clean out every time it needs it. On a daily basis clean out any feaces or urine, dirty food containers and water dishes. On a weekly basis clean out all the substrate and disinfect the cage or vivarium.
Make sure that it never smells.

YOKOHAMA — A "reptile cafe" allowing customers to consider exotic creatures while sipping Chinese tea has opened in Yokohama, the latest among a growing slues of such establishments featuring animals.
At the Reptile Cafe/Yokohama Subtropical Teahouse, located in Naka Keep away, customers are able to observe 40 different reptiles from around a dozen unlike species kept in tanks and cages, including a 1-meter-large lizard and a 1.7-meter-long snake.
The establishment has addicted a new twist to the trend of cafes showcasing animals, though they are in the main more cuddly, like cats or rabbits.
"Unexpectedly, we have many female customers," said Mutsumi Nagano, 42, director of the cafe.
The customers are also able to pet land turtles, which the forewoman assures are friendly, in a partitioned area. Customers are just required to wash their hands on entering and leaving the courtyard.

He was a lizard the size of a large house cat, cradled in the arms of its master, sleeping like a baby as she pet its huge, scaly head, like a grotesque and horribly deformed infant. I almost called the police it was so twisted. Love, I learned, between man and reptile is the sickest, most blasphemous love of all. Please, I know you’re going to write, telling me that I know nothing about reptiles, that I’m ignorant and have no compassion. And you’re right. But I know only what I saw: thousands of hungry, trapped and oppressed creatures trying to claw their way out of their cages. It was like a Turkish prison, or a Nike factory.
