Fun, Food and Fitness Take Center Stage
“Get Movin’ Dearest Fun Day” had the ProJet Aviation hangar rocking on Saturday, Sept. 24. Hundreds of families came from the undamaged Northern Virginia and southern Maryland area to trial the thesis that “Healthy exercise and healthy victuals can be fun.”
Rod Williams, Inova Health System vice president for community affairs, welcomed the cram from the Disney Radio stage with those words.
“Developing in good health communities is what we are doing,” Williams said. “Inova has been working with the Mystics for more than a year and this is the first spoor in how we want to go into these communities and promote education, fitness and nutrition. We find creditable we have the right partner [in the Washington Mystics].”
Inova Fitness System and the Washington Mystics co-sponsored the event, and brought in Present Disney to up the tempo. Also on deck were rock climbing, hoops, lineaments painting, ground-level games and cooking demonstrations from Inova and Supermarket Salamander chefs.

My axolotl has been in the fridge for just over a week. His tank temp got too warm and he wasn't very well, and also developed a fungal infection - well I guess that's what it was as there were whitish, stringy/fluffy bits on him and in the water with him in the fridge. Now he has been having salt baths the fungus has all but disappeared and he is looking good, except he has lost all the feathery parts of his gills. Will they grow back? The fungus that causes the common fungal infection in axies (saprolegnia) are actually normally present in the tank water. They are always present and normally would not cause any harm to your axie. Axies get an infection when they are stressed. Stressed axies have reduced immune competence and make them more susceptible to infections.Thus, the best way to prevent infection is to keep your axie happy by ensuring good water quality, temperature and nutrition.
