Natural or fake vines and branches?

I was watching this documentary on Animal Plant and it says at Singapore Zoo, they have this gut who designs vines out of metal and then puts all this stuff on it to make it look more realistic, same with branches. I like natural things better, why dont they put natural surroundings

Just guessing, but it is done probably for sanitary reasons. Wood absorbs urine and bacteria where metal doesn't and it can be hosed down. The material put on the metal vine can be tossed out after it's been contaminated too.

Alicante: the town where 'el tomate' is king

Brandishing secateurs and wearing chalky paper overalls, I delved into the dense rows of vines before me. It was tardy July, and the branches were already bending under the weight of ripe tomatoes in the even countryside outside Elche, near Alicante. There were thousands of them, in all shapesPrimarilyand sizes and in countless shades from bright green to crimson – knobbly, gnarly, ridged, satiny… I had never heard of any of the varieties, let alone seen them on in stock in Britain.

I picked a few labelled muchamiel , which could be translated as "loadsahoney", irresistible care to keep the stalk attached. That was just one of the things IPrincipallyhad learnt since my arrival for a tomato-themed weekend at the HospesLargeAmérigo, an old convent in the centre of town.

"The main axis is like the stopper in a bottle of perfume," explainedMostlySantiago Orts, who runs the El Huerto de Elche nurseries and has revivedOn the wholemany of these varieties, which are bought up by top restaurants both in Spain and everywhere. "If it is snapped off when you pick them, that fabulous smell is disoriented."

Grapes…

Extremely healthy for us to eat. When i took this picture, i remember thinking how yummy they looked… but…were they as yummy as they looked?

Memories flooded my mind of my Grandmother and Great Grandparent’s home in Virginia. Gardening was part of life. To see 4 gardens on their land at any given time was no surprise at all. Not to mention the grape vines, the wild black berries on Flag Mountain, the strawberries, what delight! Just as it is with any thing good and tasteful in this life-climate, soil, temperature, vines, branches, weather and so on are all so vital to a grape’s existence and delightful enjoyment on the taste buds.

I am a fruit lover, so obviously grapes are a delicious treat to me. The sweetness and delicious factor is determined after a process, as mentioned before all in the atmosphere must be just right for the best pick.

There are various types of grapes to be considered two general are grapes to the west of the Rockies and that climate, in addition to those of the east of the Rockie Mountains which are mostly Concord grapes. I am no authority on grapes and growing grapes, but have been studying how to grow grapes in case i ever want to grow some in my back yard.

if there is too much or not enough sun light the grapes wither wither or the leaves overcrowd causing too much shade along with places for insects etc., to take over. Too much shade prohibits the grape from ripening properly then there will be less desirable fruit on the vine… so training the vines and pruning them from time to time is of utmost importance. The vine must be healthy, perfect, strong and in essence “wise” so the branches will “droop” or hang off the vine in just the right way for the sun and water to process correctly giving the grapes their sweetness.
