Have you ever heard of a chinchilla? The first period I ever heard of the animal was when I was in the Navy. We were halfway through our year-and-a-half yearn training in Monterey, California, and a few of us were granted permission to room off base. Of course, this was very exciting because we had spent all of our lifetime up to that point in the barracks. Living off base meant having additional freedoms. No curfews, no extent inspections and the option of getting a pet.
I adopted a cat. My friend and shipmate, Angela, adopted a chinchilla.
These animals may not be considerably known in America as household pets. But they are wonderful cool. And lucky for you because there is an adorable chinchilla handy for adoption at the Prince William County Animal Haven .
Pekachu is a small, adult chinchilla and is quite the looker! She has a batty about bon-bon face and adorably large ears. So she is ready and waiting for her new, forever about.
Any of the three would make for a nice companion if you're seeking something warm-blooded yet quiet. Keep in mind that like parrots, the cuddle factor is totally dependent on the individual animal and quite frankly, is not necessarily the norm. My first bun was a TOTALLY cuddle bunny. I could put him in a hoodie pocket and carry him with me for HOURS. He'd nap in your lap like a cat and take himself to his cage to go potty. And one of my last buns, while not exactly cuddly, would follow me around the apartment like a dog (hence my renaming him Puppy).
