EVERYDAY you should feed your hammies fresh veggies and fruit… carrots, brocoli, bannanas, and apples! Be sure to them up real small because they have small tummies. If it looks like your hamster is literally stuffing her face it’s okay, it’s an instinct for them to eat like alot…. they have wide cheeks as they always did so there is tons of room there!
I agree you should have 2 bottles of the water because if 1 gets sick the other will have a better chance of not! BOWLS of water can make your pet drownd! But you may use one bottle or 2 but each one needs to be changed EVERY DAY… fill it half way so your not wasting so much water!(just a little save the earth thing to do)
A wire cage with a plastic bottom is a really good cage to use and the plastic is easier to clean! It also doubles as a jungle gym for your hammies to climb on! BUT a ten gallon aqauriam makes a cozy home for all hamsters ! NEVER EVER IN YOUR LIFE use pine shavings they make your pet sick.. use aspen bedding or hardwood shavings. or recycled paper pellets! I use carefresh bedding! It is really absorbent! It can be used for rats, hammies guinea pigs, birds, snakes, lizard, almost evry small pet you can think of besides fish of course! All hammies need a place to hide sleep and relax at its own small getaway! A flower pot or wooden box with a entrance hole but to keep it not boring for your pet you can buy a colored plastic igloo for them!
hamsters love sun flower seeds which you can buy in a pet shop, buy them a treat thing where they sharpen there teeth on, change there water every week, clean the cage every 2 weeks or if before, they love sawdust and newspaper, kitchen roll for their bedding and have lots of tubes and a wheel for them to play in..
hamsters like there sleep so they were probably annoyed for being woken, you could wear gloves wen u clean them out incase they bite you..

ok well first you never said how many hampsters you have or what kind but its mostly the same trust me i work at a pet store and have had well over 10 hamsters at my house the sell a really cheap pine beeding for hamsters i wouldent use newspaper because hamsters love to make holes in it to sleep in. also with the food only feed hamsters hamster food its very easy but be avised if you have a big bowl and fill it all the way up with food they will mostly spill it all out. also make sure you have a peice of wood that they can chew on because a hamsters teeth never stop growing so if he doesnt have anything to chew on (mine always chewed the cage instead of wood) there teeth would grow so long they cant close there mouth and they wont be able to eat. just make sure you leave them alone for the first couple days clean the beeding once a week. hamsters are not like other pets they will bite mine always did for no reason i have never had a hamster that didient bite. anyway if you have any other questions feal free to email me at atvmaster281@aol.com
