Is having my sugar glider and my ferret's cages on top of my dog's cage's a good idea?
My 4 dog's cages are strung out on the floor, The sugar glider cage over the top of 2 dog cages, and the Ferret cage on top of the other 2 dog cages. Is that a bad idea? Not only for any weight factors, but for the well being of the animals?
I agree with the previous person that it may be risky but not for weight reasons. Cases are pretty study. I would be more concerned about "sense of personal space" and how secure the animals feel. We keep our ferret cage next to our dogs' cages, but we have our dogs' cages stacked (we use vari-kennels which stack nicely). I don't know as much about sugar glidders, but they are sensitive at all to stimuli or not as social as dogs or ferrets then I'd definitely try giving them space not on top of the dog crates. I understand that it's hard to find space for all those crates, though!
